Don’t know how people feel about this proposed zone but the leaflet doesn’t give any option in their “resident survey” to oppose the plans. Which I feel is pretty poor show. I’ve written to the councillors Renata Hamvas and Victoria Mills about this. If anyone else feels the same please can you write also.

Absolutely nowhere to object to the proposal which IMHO makes it a flawed consultation and open to challenges.

OObviously part of the master plan to nibble away at parking provisions until there is no areas without a CPZ regardless if its needed or not.

Dear sir/madam,

I am writing to express my concerns about the proposal for parking-controlled zones in Nunhead. As a resident of this area, I believe that this measure seems unnecessary and inconvenient. It will only add to the financial burden of residents who are already experiencing a cost-of-living crisis.

While I understand the importance of regulating parking in busy areas, I don't believe it is difficult in our area. Moreover, the introduction of parking permits can make things worse for locals. This is especially true when considering the risk of hefty fines for parking in the wrong area. I feel that there should be a more equitable solution that doesn't unfairly penalise residents who are just trying to go about their daily lives.

It's unfortunate that the introduction of these zones was decided without first seeking residents' input through a biased questionnaire, which did not ask the question of whether residents wanted the introduction of controlled parking zones in Nunhead. I think the Southwark Council need to reissue this questionnaire to the residents of Nunhead asking if they wish for this measure to be taken.

I hope that you will take my concerns into consideration and work to find a solution that benefits everyone in the community.

Yours faithfully,

Southwark do what they want. So called consultation is a waste of time.  Don't forget that Southwark have their own so called green targets to meet and enforced parking restrictions can be used to meet a percentage of these. Along with Bill and Ben flower pot men closing roads and signs being set back it is a money making scheme. Money is the only reason for this.

It will cost each resident £225 a year to park their car in the street as opposed to nothing at the moment. Who would want that except the fake resident that Southwark Council mentions in their leaflet perhaps? They have not conducted a true consultation exercise or even a survey to determine what people think. In short, just lies and propaganda to get their way and force people to pay for something that is not necessary or desired.

That sounds pretty reasonable cost to me.  I am sure the money will be well spent on local services.  From my calculation the average motorist is saving far more than this with fuel duty frozen for the last 17 years, and being reduced (in theory temporarily) by the current government.  So cheer up motorists.

    • I think Watsons General Telegraph do two margaritas  for £13 every Thursday. The Great Exhibition also does a margarita deal on a Thursday: https://www.greatexhibition.pub/new-events-1 I've not tried either deal yet.
    • We first used Aaron's services for a badly damaged wall that had gone back to the brickwork due to water ingress from the bay window. We found Aaron initially through recommendation and were very fortunate to do so as we already had a couple of quotes from trades found online that were just ridiculous, clearly just a rip off, so not sure what we would of done without that recommendation. We have just had more work completed by him, two walls skimmed and more comprehensive work where the brickwork was exposed around the fireplace. The wall above the fireplace was the original plaster finish and in good condition but the original plan was to have the whole wall replastered but we couldnt get the tv off the wall bracket so asked Aaron if he could just plaster up to the tv, not ideal but not much choice. Aaron didnt have any issue with that atall and more than happy to do it. Amazingly the join between the new plaster and old plaster is invisible. Perfect feather edge finish.  Aaron is very pleasant natured, he turns up on time, he doesnt mess about and gets on with the job. He works in a very clean manner. He doesnt try and inflate the job to make it more expensive. We found him to be extremely competitively priced. Both jobs have been finished to an excellent standard. The finish is so smooth its like glass. We will certainly be using his services again in the future.     Aaron Manser 07773 410661
    • Yes, and now there's a leak further down Barry Road. Two men from Thames came and stood there looking at it and then went away. Over 24 hours later water still pouring out and no sign of any action to repair
