Singing teacher..?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone recommend/ are you one..? I am looking for someone for a one/ two off session just to get some tips really. I have 2 children and we go to singing groups etc but I feel so unconfident singing, it is really bothering me. I go to the groups as they are fun for my children, I want to be able to enjoy them more too. Can anyone help? Please pm me with details and your charges. Thanks.

Hallo

For exactly the same reasons as you I wanted to go to a singing teacher and I had some sessions with Abigail, who I found through the forum. She was great. They were useful and fun and I feel much more confident now. Her email is [email protected]

P.S. To really enjoy your singing why don't you join our choir. It is Koruso-the Southwark Community Choir. We meet on Thursdays from 6.30 to 8.30 and have a really varied repetoire.

Hello,

Try Dan Maitland who gives singing lessons in East Dulwich - [email protected]

Dan also leads our choir - the Goose Green Community Choir. The choir started off for parents/teachers of school but we are now open to all and half of choir aren't connected to school but just want to sing!

We meet at Goose Green Primary School every Tuesday (except school holidays like next week half-term) night from 6:30-7:30pm (and then we usually go to the pub!). We are a very friendly choir, very mixed in terms of ability, most of us never really sung before & most can't read music. We are a good choir to join if you are not confident about singing and want to gain confidence! Songs we are currently singing are 'Breaths' by Sweet Honey in the Rock and 'California Dreamin'. Our aim is to have fun and occassionally perform at events like the Goose Green School Carnival and Fair on the Green on the 6th July. PM me for more info including choir subs

    • The difficulty with all the national shame is that you are handing the world to the right wing populist parties ("The flag, love it or leave it").  You can look at many if not most of Europe for the damage their colonial conquests did to much of the world. For Britain we could equally look at partition and the impact on the Indian subcontinent, 10 million plus death and the bonkers situation with India and Pakistan now.  Spain and Portugal went much further in wiping out much of the population of South America.  i understand that Stalin was less.  We all know about the Third Reich, even then perhaps the allies could have done more. I am not questioning what you say, but sadly most are only concerned about the present and don't care about sins of the past. And back to my earlier comment that some will point out other 'conflicts' attracting much less interest. Not a reason not to march tomorrow

    • I'm interested to know why you say that? They both sell the same kind of thing, they both have own brand products, and unless I've got it completely wrong, they both seem to be trying to attract the same kind of customer? I would have thought a Waitrose and an M&S so close to each other would have split the customer base (?not sure of the correct term) for both of them? People might shop in both, but I'd have thought each store would still lose out on sales?
