East Dulwich Police Station

Last week myself and my friend walked to ED police station to report an incident, which we believed to be linked to be linked to a serious crime. Before we left, I checked the Met's website to make sure it was open. As you can see for yourself, the website clearly states that it is.

We arrived to find the doors locked, with no written indication that it is unmanned. Due to the urgency of the situation, we drove to the Peckham station to report the incident.

I've written to the council to ask that they update their site. It's pretty shoddy though.

Is the ED Station ever open (public front desk) anymore? They must still use the building as office space, I can't see them just letting it sit completely empty.

The website you accessed is run by the Met Police.

I'll contact the borough commander and ask that they update it.

Because we didn't know exactly where Peckham police station was and it was also getting late due to the time wasted in Dulwich, I drove there. Got home even later and parked on a single yellow line (didn't realise it was) and have a ?65 parking fine for my troubles.

Just a faff all around.

Update on this. I've received a response from the Met and have been advised that the station is open, but was closed at time we visited due to a short age of police officers on that date.

It's never open though is it?

Sounds like a rubbish response & v misleading. What on earth has happened to the police in ED. Do we really on longer have any? It's a bit worrying to say the least.

Every time I've walked past the station since reporting this, there's been a sign on the door stating the station is closed "today" and to call 101 or go to Peckham

Hire a private security firm god knows there's enough of them running around unregulated unlike the police who aren't running around or sitting on the job as they aren't there in the first place (police station) WTF
