Someone is clearly very upset about hire bikes being abandoned around the area and has taken matters into their own hands (Gloved, I hope); Has anyone else noticed the bikes smeared with poop on saddles and handlebars? I've seen maybe a dozenover the last week or so

I doubt anyone would spread poo around as a form of protest? It is not something normally used by protestors, is it? The only place I know of associated with 'protest poo' is HM's prisons?

Either way, it is an extremely anti-social, disgraceful thing to do and whatever the motivation - if there is any at all- to do this close to a school is unpardonable.

I’ve reported to the council. It’s really dangerous given all the children who walk to school this way.

Also report it to the relevant bike company as they can come out and clean the bike quickly.

My suspicion, like first mate, is that it's not a protester and given proximity to a school it's possible a young adolescent thinking it's funny and no real other motivation.

Or the naked bike rider has struck again 😜

    • Thanks for these responses. Yes, Cllr Browning & Cllr Hartley did a door-knocking exercise a couple of months ago. It was Maggie Browning who knocked and I told her that I'd had radio silence from Jon Hartley. She looked embarrassed but not surprised. I have spoken to him since, only after writting to Ellie Reeves, our MP about it his lack of response. He agreed to address the issue I asked about but I've not heard from him since. It's really not acceptable for an elected Councillor to consistently ignore his ward constituents. Since it's clearly not a one-off, I'm gonna pick this up formally. I'll let you know how I get on...
    • If memory serves, Labour under Corbyn got more electoral  votes than Labour under Starmer. So I'm not sure how you can call that being "unelectable"? Under a different and fairer electoral system Labour would have won. I see moves are afoot to bring in such a different, fairer system, presumably in the hopes of stopping Reform winning next time. BTW there was a mass exodus from Labour  by  the local (East Dulwich) Labour party members when Corbyn was kicked out by Starmer. It isn't just Islington who doesn't want to support  a right or centre right Labour party.
    • Is this the new shop next to Dulwich Tandoori? is it actually open and if so has anyone tried them.
    • It was The Brickhouse - we liked them and it was very sad when they had to close
