Dog alert - the council is spraying the pavement with poison

It took me a long time to find out why my dog was sick after eating grass along the pavement, which is a normal dog behaviour! Not even the vet knew what was wrong till I noticed the council spaying the grass with poison outside my house and this morning they are around once again. This should be illegal! 😡

I’m wondering if one knows how to stop the council from poisoning our streets???

If you see them around your street please as about the weed killer compound - many weed killers contain glyphosate, which is harmful to dogs!

I also noticed that this person was, whilst in my sight anyway, without any kind of face mask, for example.

Glycophosphate is commonly used in the UK including gardeners.  If you've ever bought round up that is it.  The EU wanted to ban it due to over use by farmers, but we don't subscribe to that woke nonsense as they have done in France.  Perhaps someone would like to write to Defra through their local MP asking about greater controls over this commonly available weed killer

    • I know people won’t have any sympathy but the SEND challenge was brought up when taxing parents who have opted for independent school to meet a child’s SEND needs. Funding crisis is getting worse and the VAT on Education pushed children out of independent schools, now their SEND needs are to be met by the state.
    • I completely agree with you - and last night was really terrible where I am. Between midnight and 1am was the worst, where it genuinely felt like a war zone. I had to run out of my house to try and stop a grown man setting them off in open space right by our front doors. In response he went to throw a half lit one at me and then seemed to think better of it. I am so sad at how bad the situation has got here and how selfish people are. Fireworks are bad for the environment and for pets and wildlife, as well as just being unnecessary noise for people too. I have sent an email today to Helen Hayes, which I have done previously on this issue. Would advise anyone to write to your MP to do the same, and to ask them to engage with the debates scheduled for 19 Jan.
    • And they started long before midnight!
    • First mate - I wondered if I was imagining things at 4.45 this morning . Apparently not .
