From a health and safety angle - I imagine that this is not legal. When I was younger ( and fitter) used to take daughter to her nursery on my bike and had a specially fitted child seat on the back. I lived in Holland for 3 months and young children were frequently transported by bike. They had to be of an age that could be strapped into an appropriate child seat and also wear a helmet,

Oh I thought you were talking about the nutty boys, those pop skasters also known as Madness.

You want madness - then look at this, often shown by our national broadcaster.  I believe that one of the perpertrators also got an award for it.  What woke nonsense.  I blame it on Southwark, the Labour party, the Mayor, TfL, the rich people in leafy Dulwich and biased scientists.

I want to get a SIM card to put in an old mobile as a back up,  in case despite my best efforts my mobile gets stolen and I have no way of contacting anybody quickly, eg banks. Can I just buy any old cheap pay as you go  SIM card and put say ten pounds on it and it will then be fine for years (with the phone kept charged!) even if I don't use it, or do I have to use the phone  every so often to keep the SIM card valid?
    • I hate to see trees cut down to such an unfinished state. Unless the tree is home to wildlife, an effort should be made to remove & replace. Otherwise, it's just so useless & unsightly.
    • Given the level of care in Dulwich Park, I would not expect this to be careless or unnecessary. It will grow back.
    • Quite a number of us who visit the park have wondered the same thing. Also, since a lovely tree in Peckham park was almost mistakenly cut down, the confidence in the council is not 100%
