Looking for a nanny, Monday - Thursday, 3pm - 6.30pm (with occasional ad hoc extra hours) from September 2023 for a lovable, fun 7 year old boy who needs to be collected from the Belham, Peckham Rye area. We are looking for someone who likes to play, is happy to connect with other childcarers / parents and their kids, hang out at Warwick Gardens and other locations after school when the weather is decent, and play at home when it’s cold and dark. This will include making and serving some food at home, the occasional playdate at home or elsewhere, and generally just having fun! Some extra hours are sometimes available during school holidays, school strike days, sick days, babysitting etc.

We are a chilled out family who live close to the school and all we really ask is that our son’s nanny is reliable, committed, kind and likes chatting, listening to and playing with a boy (biased as we are) we know to be loving and brimming with enthusiasm. He quickly bonds with people who like imaginative play, cooking cakes and being a bit silly.

We pay tax, NI, pension and do it all above board as required by the right person. We pay during school holidays so nannies can have their own breaks too. We ask for a commitment of a school year (hopefully more) and have been lucky to have continuity of just two nannies over the last few years who have only left because they are going on to new careers / studies / moved etc. We respect your profession and see you as part of our family.

Please get in touch if interested.

    • There was quite an old clip on BBC4 recently where they were introducing yoghurt to the British public. They called it a 'Balkan Dairy Preparation', which sounded to me more like something you'd ask to speak to the male member of staff about in the chemist in those days.
    • I haven't had any problems, except when the online  appointment system is full, but I have found if something is urgent they can fit you in if you phone. I think they probably keep a few spaces free for urgent last minute appointments, but I'm just guessing  I've found it quite convenient being able to email questions which previously I would have had to ask at an actual appointment, and I've always had a speedy reply. You can send photos as well. I don't know about forms and letters. That sounds bad. Have the admin staff changed recently?
    • Nearly a quarter of the way through the season. Week 9 points...   Week 9 table...
    • The yoghurt was very sharp (not sure of right word) and  if memory serves quite runny. Nothing like the stuff sold now. There was pink as well. Strawberry? That must have had sugar in? Too new fangled for us, but my Auntie Grace down the road used to get it 😂 Well, you had to keep up to date. Sorry, couldn't resist.
