Naiada
I tripped & fell back in April & suffered a mild anterior wedge fracture of vertebra T6 (ie the vertebra in the centre of my spine between my shoulders. Has anyone else had a somilar injury, & if so did you use a back brace? I’m still waiting for an outpatient appt at Kings after several GP cock-ups (referring me to wrong departments etc) & am worries that a) it’s not getting any bettee & b) that I don’t know what I ahould / should not be doing to help it. It feels like I’ve been punched in the back whenever I bend down a bit & then the muscles in my shoulder go into spasm - ouch! Any advice greatly appreciated thanks. Guest
Hi there. I’m not a medical professional; my ex fractured 3 vertebrae in his thoracic spine when we were on holiday together some years ago. He was given a brace to wear for 3-4 months & saw a physiotherapist weekly, who encouraged him to take up Reformer Pilates to regain strength and mobility when he was a little further down the road to recovery. alice
If you do decide to go to a physiotherapist, try Elizabeth at ESPH. She is very experienced and has sorted an excruciating back pain in 2 sessions. Sue
Sorry to hear this. First of all, change your GP surgery?! Second, you could try 111 for advice? It's a bit hit and miss but worth a shot? Third, I have no idea if it's the kind of thing a chiropractor could deal with, but if it is, Daniel at Dulwich Chiropractic Clinic in Crystal Palace Road is very good. https://www.dulwichchiropractic.co.uk/ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/330899-fractured-vertebra-any-advice/#findComment-1633911 Share on other sites
