Curmudgeon
I fail to see how this is a big surprise, 3 levels progress for a high attainer is not a stretch target whereas for a low attainer, which you must appreciate includes students with severe special educational needs, it can on a case by case basis be almost unattainable. yet another issue with league tables.a further consideration is of course how inaccurately KS2 SATs actually reflect ability and knowledge. In my professional life we are moving further and further away from using these tests as a basis for setting / streaming and ability at the start of year 7 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/33237-interesting-article-re-progress-of-high-achievers/#findComment-653948 Share on other sites
Fuschia
I agree with you on all counts That second article talks about the basis of the latest pronouncement (l5s converted to a/a* as opposed to b and the difference between the l5s in a selective school (all high l5s) and in a comprehensive ( all l5s) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/33237-interesting-article-re-progress-of-high-achievers/#findComment-653951 Share on other sites
