well - not so much the brewers - it' more the pubcos who own all the pubs  themselves - they dictate what they landlord can sell and what price they charge

I paid £6.80 yesterday in Hammersmith yesterday for a pint of ale.  Not craft ale.  Not poncy lager.  But British ale.  Worst still I'm typing whilst half watching Question Time.  What a horrid person Rees Mogg is.

This was more than a cheap bottle of port from Lidl, which would certainly get me drunk.  Should I choose to drink it by the half pint!

Fox on the Hill, had 3 meals and a kids meal all included a drink for under £40! Not fancy but at that price you can afford an Uber each way!

From time to time there is bother at the Fox.  And at times service is indifferent.  A right twot owns the company.  But yes it is cheap.
