We're new to the area & London, and are wondering who/where we should buy a washer and a dryer from? We need separate machines.

Also, any recommendations on energy-efficient ones that have short 30-minute cycles, and don't continue to beep until they're shut off šŸ™‚

Thanks!Ā

Which magazine is the best for recommendations. We purchased a Miele in 2008 from PC world which is still going strong. Prices now over £1000.. Prior to that we had a Zanussi for over 10 years. Bosch is good, Hotpoint's are usually rubbish (my stepdaughter has got through 3 in less than 10 years)

We buy most of our electrical from PC WorldĀ  or John Lewis.Ā Ā

I have a Miele washing machine which I'm very happy with, but I did get it at a good price when it was on offer.

No bleeping, and it has a twenty minute wash at 40 degrees which is fine for most things, but lots of other programmes plus you can give things an extra spin if you want to save on drying time.

It has never gone wrong (I'm probably tempting fate by saying that!)

I would never use John Lewis again for electrical goods (or laptops).Ā  It would take too long to describe all the reasons why, but I have given them too many chances now, and never never again.

For my fridge freezer I checked out the models physically in John Lewis, but then  bought from AO. And no I didn't think that was unfair of me, because the customer service I got from John Lewis on that occasion also  was abysmal 😔

    • Years ago, got my ears pierced, alcohol on site, gun ..done.. Simple.. Gosh, surely your daughter of mothers can recommend Ā - do you really need to post on forum? Or maybe you home school whatever.. still recovering from shock, posted along the lines of, advice needed about adopting/ buying a dog…. Guess I am now at a age, where I should just keep quiet and pass no comment and read Ā postings like a ā€œsoapā€ - cheaper than tv licence… Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā

    • I would'nt go locally I'd go to Maria Tash in Liberty..it'll be more expensive but they will do a good job and its their buisness not a 'sideline' to other beauty offerings. https://www.mariatash.com/store-locations/maria-tash-london-liberty?srsltid=AfmBOoqMz7Ev-4YqzrlkePX0n3i5JbiggGYSR9kU5z1p_ajP_jjQKqlt I have no experience of piercing at Polished but I went in to enquire about a manicure and I found the staff attitude pretty rude, looking me up and down when I walked in and just giving off a bad attitude like they just could'nt be bothered maybe because I'm not a glam 30 something? I dont know.
    • Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone here buys Bonne Maman jam? I’d love to upcycle the empty jars if you're planning to throw them out. I'm hoping to make my own jam and would really appreciate using those cute jars for it. Thanks
