Hi i',m sorry I can't be much help other than from my direction all the buses (176. 185, 40 ) take you down to the Sainsbury then cut across the little ally . But think you are coming the other way so maybe that is no help at all!!

But just wanted to say - lucky you - I loved the school when I looked around it. I am praying I get offered a place before September but not sure with these waiting lists. Can I ask what position you were if you don't mind me asking?

I didn't get any of my school choice and starting to lose all hope.

Sorry to have crashed this thread. x

If you cut through the bike trail, across greendale playing field(near sainsburys) and follow that through to the end, it'll take you behind Bessemer, so when you reach the end, turn right and walk for 30 secs and you'l see a little alleyway which leads straight to Bessemer school. Hope this helps
At the top of St Francis Rd there's a cut through to Dulwich Hamlet football club. Walk past the stadium AMD up the alley until you get to Greendale . Turn right onto Greendale and almost immediately left into another alley and Bessemer's on your left. I takes about 10 min or less with a scooting 4 year old.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

kamath - I think we were 5th on the list a week or so after places were allocated in April. We seem to have stayed around 5th/6th since then although I have only been checking every 3-4 weeks. Yes, we are very lucky, we were originally given our 4th choice and now have our first. I loved Bessemer when I looked round, just starting to think about the practicalities of it all. Good luck.

    • This week's edition of The Briefing Room I found really useful and impressively informative on the training aspect.  David Aaronovitch has come a long way since his University Challenge day. 😉  It's available to hear online or download as mp3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002n7wv In a few days time resident doctors -who used to be known as junior doctors - were meant to be going on strike. This would be the 14th strike by the doctors’ union since March 2023. The ostensible reason was pay but now the dispute may be over without more increases to salary levels. The Government has instead made an offer to do something about the other big issue for early career doctors - working conditions and specialist training places. David Aaronovitch and guests discuss what's going on and ask what the problem is with the way we in Britain train our doctors? Guests: Hugh Pym, BBC Health Editor Sir Andrew Goddard, Consultant Gastroenterologist Professor Martin McKee, Professor of European Public Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Mark Dayan, Policy Analyst, Nuffield Trust. Presenter: David Aaronovitch Producers: Caroline Bayley, Kirsteen Knight, Cordelia Hemming Production Co-ordinator: Maria Ogundele Sound Engineers: Michael Regaard, Gareth Jones Editor: Richard Vadon
    • That was one that the BBC seem to have lost track of.  But they do still have quite a few. These are some in their 60s archive. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0028zp6
