Gardener needed

Recommended Posts

Hi, can anyone recommend a reliable gardener? We have a plum tree that is in need of a prune and some high hedges that need cutting back. Wanting a gardener as a one off to come and tidy it up, and to have occasionally when we cant manage it, but i'm having difficulty finding someone. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks

Charlotte

Hi Charlotte

Not sure if you will have already found someone but if not, I highly recommend TandT Gardening. They have various other recommendations on this forum too.

They are a father and son team, both called Tom. Together they can provide gardening and/or garden-related construction services. Tom (senior) has just put up an excellent new fence around my garden. He worked incredibly quickly, was very contactable, reliable and I am really pleased with the job. He was really happy to do a few extra things at the same time and even lent me a jigsaw so I could (attempt) to put in a cat flap the following weekend!

I'm now engaging Tom (junior) to overhaul the garden itself by putting in some new planting, training some climbers (around my nice new fence and trellis) and to put in a raised bed. Excited to see the finished result.

This is their website - http://www.tandtgardening.co.uk/default.html

Leah is their assistant and has always got back to me really quickly via email on [email protected]. You can also get Tom (Jr) on 07580 387 836 or Tom (Sr) on 07438 502290.

Hope this helps!

We highly recommend Matthew Walker of Upton & Walker Gardening, a small local business. Matthew planned and designed new beds and plants for us and then did all the ordering and planting - and it looks great; a beautiful garden, with really well chosen plants that work throughout the year, that has looked really well established in no time. He also does maintenance work and is a really nice person to deal with and have around. He can be contacted on 07875 401 815 or at [email protected]

    • If you are that bothered, why don't you ask the people at the mosque what the situation is, and let us all know? 🤣 I live round the corner and I hadn't even noticed an awning, let alone one "half hanging off". If you think it's a safety hazard, that's a different issue, and one they may not be aware of, in which case you should definitely let them know.
    • I guess, in a few weeks we will see if he is still a councillor or goes back to teaching 🤔
    • What happened with the Heygate was absolutely scandalous. The lack of accountability is shocking.
    • Because the previous Libdem/Tory coalition council did so much better? ....Oh wait. Selling off the Heygate at a bargain price and reducing the number of council homes it replaced? Being in opposition is so much easier isn't it James.  The point on allowances etc is a valid one, and that is about finding the right balance between the responsibility of those cabinet roles and the role of service that should underpin all political aspirations in an ideal world. Holding down a full time job, while having to attend meetings and then deal with case work on top, is a huge ask imo. People in key roles need to have the time needed to do those roles effectively, so some renumeration makes sense. It's just a question of where the balance should be. McAsh has walked away from that, so his convictions are doing more talking than careerism arguably.  Worth pointing out that most MPs started out as party/ political activists/ campaigners on a local level. Different parties have different processes for selecting candidates, but everyone starts out at a low level.
