pillows - advice please

not sure if this the right section so apologies if not. Pillows - looking to finally replace out much worn grotty pillows with some decent quality ones. I always thought that goose/duck down was the way to go, but should I actually be going for a high quality hollow fibre/micro fibre one? (a friend swears these are better) do they actually offer good support and keep their shape? we don;t have any allergy issues, but would love to know what you would recommend.

100% downy is very squishy. Go for feathercore if you want support for sitting up reading. Microfibres can flatten over time but are easy to wash. Cotton zip pillow protectors are good for all pillows. Why not buy a couple of natural pillows and a couple of synthetic? See which you like best in 6 mo?
