Healthy Ride, Dec 2nd 2023. City Alleyways Tour. < https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/city-alleyways-cycle-tour-tickets-764963164417  >  Start 10am, London Bridge (Southwark Needle, south end of bridge, close to London Bridge Station). This is a new ride researched by John Sutton who will be leading. Here is his description. “A short and leisurely ten-mile loop from London Bridge to London Wall, and then to Victoria Embankment Gardens, before returning along the river to Blackfriars Bridge, and back to London Bridge. On the way we’ll cycle through several of the oldest and most interesting alleyways in the area, as well as some remarkable remnants of buildings long gone. Lots of time for photo opportunities! Starting at 10am from London Bridge, probable coffee stop around half way, back before 1pm.”

If you cannot make a ride, please cancel so that someone else can take the place. How to cancel link: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/help/en-gb/articles/575010/how-to-cancel-your-free-registration/

These rides are organised by Southwark Cyclists and are part of a regular programme of Saturday rides, more information at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/.

    • Dog kennel isn't a great name for a school. I agree that it's ridiculous for the name to put anyone off going there, but don't see any issue with them rebranding if the parents and children prefer a new name. The school is surrounded by historical 'groves' (reflected in the names of Camberwell Grove, Grove park and Grove Vale for example), so it's not a totally random name.
    • It might help if there are body cams to record evidence and a presence maybe a deterrent but I very much doubt a park warden would intervene with obnoxious and violent thugs - children or not. We need police for that.
    • I had a leaky toilet cistern and Niko came out the same day and not only fixed the leak but thoroughly cleaned off the years of calcium build-up. His attention to detail was matched by his kind humanity. The result was a completely renovated toilet which has never worked more efficiently as well as 'service with a smile'. MANY THANKS NIKO!!!
    • I am trying to find out about people's experiences of the 4+ and 7+ assessments. I am a teacher and have a wealth of experience tutoring for theses assessments (including my own son), but it's always good to keep on top of things as they always make tweaks to them. TIA!
