Snapped this photo of a “East Dulwich” sign when on a bus approaching the roundabout at the end of Lordship Lane.

I would have expected such a sign to be on the opposite side of the road for people entering Lordship Lane from the roundabout.

So is this sign saying we are entering East Dulwich at that point, or is it saying we have just been there 🤣🤣😳🤔

Or is it just a legacy of old signage.

The first house we bought was at the goose green end of Crystal Palace Road but if you looked in the old A-Zs at the time the P of 'Peckham' started on Crystal Palace Road, but I'd definitely say we lived in East Dulwich. Though these days I might claim it was in Peckham or at least Bellenden - much cooler.

I've probably posted this before but I come from near to  Lickey End, and a village called Bell End, so always find this amusing in later life - only after Steve Wright in the afternoon went on about this, he is a bit of a Lickey/Bell end himself.  Bell Green where savacenter/Sainsbury's is, I've always known as Bell End.

It's possible that it's just facing in the wrong direction and that it simply needs to be turned around by 180 degrees.  Mistake or joke perhaps by whoever was last attaching signs to the same post..

It talks to the couple who ran SNARL, and provides something of their account of how the project began, developed and ended, and the effect it had on their lives then and subsequently.   https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002j5nr

    • Hi all, it’s been a while since I last posted so I thought I’d provide a quick update on what we now can offer. Alongside the usual bespoke joinery (wardrobes, bookcases, alcove units etc), I’m now also working with a wider range of veneered boards (ash, maple, walnut, etc.) as well as fluted/reeded panels for anyone after a more textured, high-end finish. I’ve also been adding more lighting options to my fitted furniture – warm white LED strips with sensors or remote controls, ideal for wardrobes and bookcases. They make a huge difference once fitted and really elevate a space. If you’re planning a project and would like to explore these options, please feel free to get in touch.
