Beginners Still Life Drawing & Painting Short Course

Monday 10 am - 12.30 pm

Join us in a warm and supportive environment where you'll learn step-by-step techniques for capturing the essence of still life scenes.

In this 4-week course, you'll explore a variety of mediums such as graphite, charcoal, inks, and acrylic paints to craft captivating still life scenes featuring flowers, fruit, and everyday objects.

YOU WILL LEARN:

  • How to work with still life objects and set-ups
  • How to plan out, measure and place several objects within a space to create a balanced composition
  • To develop techniques to measure angles, heights, widths and make use of negative space to ensure we create an accurate representation of the scene.
  • How to create tonal variations & create volume through shadow and light using using graphite, charcoal and inks
  • Basic colour theory and colour mixing & how to paint with acrylics
  • Gain confidence with colour application to create depth & definition

We are pleased to be hosting this event in West 16th a lovely new teaching studio space at the rear of a neighbourhood

café & bar in North Dulwich. 

5 mins walking distance from North Dulwich and Herne Hill train stations. Nearest underground station Brixton and jump on 37 bus for a quick 10 min journey.

• This course is suitable for those with little to no experience.

• All materials are included.

• This ticket does not include any drinks, but there is a cafe onsite where you can purchase drinks and snacks

• Bookings are non-refundable, unless the course is cancelled by us.

• The course will only go ahead if the minimum participant requirement for the course to run is met. If the course does not go ahead, bookings will be refunded.• Adults’ workshops are 16+ unless otherwise stated.

    • Anyone else having problems getting responses from Cllr Hartley (Dulwich Hill ward)? I notice that someone else on here suggested that he never acknowledges emails from residents?
