There's currently no signage on the busy side of Denmark Hill station. Thameslink claim the signage on Champion Park is 'clear and obvious', despite there not being any 🤔

I've started a petition if anyone is inclined to sign: https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/thameslink-to-add-signage-outside-denmark-hill-station

I had an issue years ago and my MP was reasonably engaged.  He wrote a separate PS at the end of the letter, so definitely didn't rely on a stock letter.  Need to test out the current one out on some other rail related stuff.  If you are unhappy with Thameslink then go to the ombudsman.  My issues are with SWR, should lose their franchise, and GWR at station ticketing.  I'd love a single ticketing system across all providers

Thanks - I've written to Harriet Harman, so hopefully she can do something. What annoys me the most is that it's clearly lacking, and they just don't care whether people can find the station or not. I live very near it and am asked all the time where the station is!

There may be a problem here about authority - street furniture (i.e. signposts) are the remit of local authorities, not railway companies - and although Thameslink uses Denmark Hill is it actually 'their' station, or is it Network Rails? I suspect that the best that could be done by rail companies is to signpost actually on the station, which may be unnecessary if you've got that far.

I agree the signposting isn't good, but whose fault that may be is moot. And who must remedy it mooter.

So apparently it's up to Thameslink, but to add Overground signage (as they did on the other entrance) they have to work with TfL. When I contacted Thameslink, they flat out refused to countenance putting any signage up! Ultimately it's up to them

    • I’m currently conducting exploratory research into menstrual health education in UK secondary schools and would really value the insight of PSHE leads, Heads of Year, or pastoral staff.    The research aims to understand:   How the menstrual cycle is currently taught within the RSHE framework Where schools feel confident — and where there may be gaps Whether students are taught and  asking questions around the full menstrual cycle, symptoms, wellbeing and conditions such as PMS/PMDD or endometriosis How schools support students in feeling empowered to understand their bodies and seek help appropriately Whether education around nutrition, lifestyle, and menstrual wellbeing is currently addressed   The long-term goal is to explore whether there is a need for additional, age-appropriate, medically informed support on the menstrual cycle.  I’m not selling a programme and there is no obligation beyond a 30 minute informal chat online (Unpaid). All conversations will be confidential and used only to inform the research. If you work in a UK secondary school and would be willing to share your perspective, I would be extremely grateful to hear from you. Please comment below or email me [email protected] Thank you for the vital work you do. Best wishes, Emma
