SOLD Gorgeous Graham & Green 4 seater Antibes light grey linen sofa with removeable covers. £700 ONO.

Recommended Posts

I am sadly selling this stylish, loose linen upholstered VGC 4 seater Antibes sofa in light grey from Graham and Green which needs a home. It is a gorgeous, extremely comfortable sofa with deep cushions that mould to your form. The frame is made of sturdy hardwood with soft feather scatter cushions with foam & feather stuffed seats, perfect for lounging. The covers are made from soft, thick, heavy Belgian linen & the sofa is loose covered so all covers are removable for easy washing, making it kid & pet friendly also! There are 5 x big scatter cushions all in the same grey linen. Measurements: length 235cm/height approx 75cm/depth 100cm.

It's approx.4- 5 years old (they don't sell this model anymore) & cost about £5000 but has been very well looked after. It's a really well made sofa that could last a lifetime. There are no stains or tears on the sofa. There are also removeable & washable thick cream cotton covers on all the cushions underneath the linen ones to protect the sofa. We had a couple of small tears at the bottom of the back of the cover (which are not visible at all as material tucks under the sofa base) from when we moved & they have both been sewn up by a professional seamstress. But completely not visible in anyway. I also had the covers (which were ecru) died by a professional linen mill to light grey (they matched a Conran shade) when we first purchased it as we quickly realised an ecru sofa & children don't go together!! Its a soft warm light grey & goes with everything.

I love the sort of lived in look of these lovely linen sofas. They are invitingly cosy, soft & squishy and certainly tempt me to sit down and not move for quite some time! Plenty of room to curl your feet up & the style is very timeless. Grab yourself a bargain. Pick up from just off Bellenden Road, SE15.

I live in a pet & smoke free home. Happy for you to come & view the sofa before committing to buying it!

    • But all those examples sell a wide variety of things,  and mostly they are well spread out along Lordship Lane. These two shops both sell one very specific thing, albeit in different flavours, and are just across the road from each other. I don't think you can compare the distribution of shops in Roman times to the distribution of shops in Lordship Lane in the twenty first century. Well, you can, but it doesn't feel very appropriate. Haa anybody asked the first shop how they feel? Are they happy about the "healthy competition" ?
    • ED is included in the 17 August closure set (or just possibly 15 August, depending on which part of the page you trust more) listed at https://metro.co.uk/2025/07/25/full-list-25-poundland-stores-confirmed-close-august-23753048/. Here incidentally are some snippets from their annual reports, at https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/02495645/filing-history. 2022: " during the period we opened 41 stores and closed 43 loss-making/under-performing stores.  At the period-end we were trading from 821 stores in the UK, IoM and ROI. ... "We renogotiated 82 leases in the year, saving on average 45% versus the prior lease agreement..." 2023: "We also continued to improve our market footprint through sourcing better store locations, opening 53 and closing 51 stores during the year." 2024:  "The ex-Wilco stores acquired in the prior year have formed a core part of this strategy to expand our store network.  We favour quality over quantity and during the period we opened 84 stores and closed 71 loss-making/under-performing ones."
    • Ha! After I posted this, I thought of lots more examples. Screwfix and the hardware store? Mrs Robinson and Jumping Bean? Chemists, plant shops, hairdressers...  the list goes on... it's good to have healthy competition  Ooooh! Two cheese shops
    • You've got a point.  Thinking Leyland and Screwfix too but this felt different.
