alice
Just wondering if there is a gas leak in a tenanted property and the gas board advises tenants to leave who is responsible for their accommodation or compensation I would’ve thought it’s the landlord because the accommodation is no longer habitable but am interested in other thinking/ knowledge Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/341159-gas-leak-and-landlords/ Share on other sites
Froglander
What is leaking? Is it an appliance or a pipe or meter? Is there something in writing from the Gas Board? Has the landlord been notified? I’d call the local council and speak to someone there. Spartacus
18 hours ago, alice said: Gas board knocked on the door at 1 am and said everyone had to leave there was the gas leak Was / is the leak ins8de the property or nearby the property? If inside and it's the landlords responsibility then they will have to assist you with temporary accommodation. If its outside and nothing to do with the landlord then you may have to seek redress from the gas board 🙄 1 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/341159-gas-leak-and-landlords/#findComment-1656468 Share on other sites
ianr
"These boards simply became known as the "gas board", a term people still use when referring to British Gas, the company that replaced the boards when the Gas Act 1972 was passed. The area boards became regions of the British Gas Corporation." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gas_board Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/341159-gas-leak-and-landlords/#findComment-1656484 Share on other sites
