Burd Ellen is Debbie Armour (Alasdair Roberts, Green Ribbons) and Gayle Brogan (Pefkin, Electroscope). They use traditional song to explore and evoke dark landscapes and deep stories. Innovative instrumentation, drone and sound wash support detailed vocal work to create a unique sonic atmosphere.

Sonny Brazil lives on a narrow boat. He adores old folk songs. He plays melodeon and sings in Goblin Band, though his solo sets are becoming increasingly popular.

Phil Stevens has a very eclectic repertoire of song. He is as comfortable with Shape Note songs as he is with the songs of Robyn Hitchcock. He also sings a wide range of traditional songs. Phil is also a member of Shotley Crue, who sing shanties and sea songs.

    • Thinking of opening your Dulwich garden for charity in 2026 or curious to know what’s involved? If so, the Dulwich Society would love to hear from you. It's a wonderful way to support good causes, meet neighbours and share the beauty you have created. If you would like to learn more, without any commitment, please email us at [email protected]. The volunteer who coordinates our 'Dulwich Gardens Open for Charity' programme will be happy to explain what's involved.
    • I think it’s directly related because a major factor in so few houses actually being built despite the demand is  a) financial incentives for builders isn’t there. Longer they wait to build the more prices go up. Because too many people want prices to go up    b) nimbys. In expensive houses.  Don’t build here it will devalue my property   Because my property price has to go up
