Sally Eva
On the 9th we have 2 rides planned. Eva has a new ride from Dulwich to the City, Simon K, has a favourite Thames-side ride to the Flood Barrier. Ride 1. London Models at the Guildhall < https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/cycle-ride-to-london-models-at-the-guildhall-tickets-853031398877 > We will ride to the Guildhall Library to have a look at the amazing models of London and the City of London which are exhibited there https://nla.london/exhibitions/the-city-model. Start in Dulwich Park, at the Café, 10am. Cross the river via London Bridge and then on the way back take Southwark Bridge and have the coffee stop in Burgess Park. Will take 2.5 - 3 hours, mainly because we will spend at least 20 minutes with the 2 models exhibited at the Guildhall. Mostly on quiet streets and Cycleways. Easy pace suitable for all levels of cyclist. Eva leading. Probable route at https://www.komoot.com/tour/1442856367?ref=wtd&share_token=afgjnD7miWntfW9P4FfWbr34afO0b6YEy1F3i6q0ZD9rY3thnp Ride 2. Canada Water to the Thames Flood Barrier < https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/canada-water-to-thames-barrier-cycle-ride-tickets-853037878257 > Easy, 13 mile, flat ride, mostly off road. Meet 10am in Deal Porter Square, Canada Water, next to library and opposite the station. Or join ride at Cutty Sark, be there at 10.25. Choice of routes to Greenwich, probably use C14 for part. Then Thames path past O2 to the Barrier. Return much the same way. Allowing 2½ hours so we can have a coffee break. Riding alongside the Thames is always a joy. Everyone welcome. Simon K. leading. This ride is part of a regular programme of Saturday rides, more information at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/. -- Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/341752-free-sociable-cycle-rides-sat-march-9th/ Share on other sites
