I went once years ago, gathered up a few pairs of trousers to try on, then found they had no changing rooms. Bought nothing, never went back.

I used to like going there on my way back from town. Very sorry to hear it’s closing.

That will be a sad loss to Walworth, last time I went past it looked as though it had undergone a makeover.

Times change, shopping habits change, blame the likes of amazon and online shopping for the closure, convenience is good but it has hidden consequences.  But then it could be down to the cost of running the site, who knows or just a cost cutting exercise by M&S. 

Sad anyway.

Yes, sad indeed for people living in Walworth, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised to find that M&S will sooner or later Will open a new store in the revamped Elephant & Castle, where they can take advantage of a new, possibly more upmarket demographic. 
 

BTW, we’re actually very lucky in East Dulwich, since the ED station outlet does click and collect and it’s therefore possible to access their entire clothing and more. items arrive for collection within a day or two and can be returned without any fuss simply by handing them back at the store. Magic!

My guess would be that they’re going to open one in the new Elephant shopping centre.

Heard it's because of the shoplifters targetting the place and clearing the shelves.  They know police won't attend and act.
