🚨 NEW PROJECT ALERT! 🚨 Housing Justice have launched Refugee Lodgings in London, aiming to reduce homelessness and rough sleeping among newly granted refugees.

Refugee Lodgings is a response to the rise in newly recognised refugees being forced into homelessness and rough-sleeping following an eviction from Home Office Accommodation.

We are recruiting Resident Landlords, who will welcome a Refugee Lodger into their home for 6 months. Resident Landlords can earn up to £7,500 tax free per year, helping with the cost of living. Refugee Lodgers will gain stability to adjust to life in the UK and build skills for employment and experience for the private rental market.

Housing Justice will support the placement to ensure a positive experience for everyone!

    • The swimming lessons at JAGS Sportsclub are very popular, and the gym there might meet your needs. Southwark took over running its leisure centres from everyone active a while back and so far seems to be making a real mess of things. There’s lots of private gyms and other council ones in Lewisham and Lambeth so depending on exactly where you’re going to be you can look at those. JAGS and Dulwich College both have sports clubs with nice facilities, but you can’t use them during the school day. Check their sites for details.

What amazes me is the similarity in every way to Gala - large areas annexed but the council trying to convince everyone it's only a tiny part of the park. Claiming that the flora & fauna is being protected when the reality is a tick-box environmental survey that's not worth the paper it's written on. All very depressing.

Delivering a reliable service is our top priority, and I am very sorry that your constituent has cause for concern. I am always disappointed when I hear that any of our customers do not feel that they are receiving the service that they ought to. Following your communication, I contacted the Customer Operations Manager at Peckham Delivery Office. They have advised me that there are no current issues with the delivery of mail to addresses on Chadwick Road. They have confirmed that mail deliveries are taking place six days a week, when there is mail available to be delivered, and I am assured that there is no mail currently awaiting delivery. If at any point a delivery round cannot be completed on a particular day, for example we may have a shortage of staff, the unit will ensure that the address will become the priority the following working day. I hope that this reply is helpful. As always if we can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. Yours sincerely Michael Hogg Senior Public Affairs Manager   This was the reply the MP sent me regarding lack of post.
