Call for input! London Lines - festival of neighbourhood at Southbank this weekend

Recommended Posts

Though I live in Peckham I'm representing the London Borough of Westminster in this weekend's London Lines event at the Southank.

I've worked in Wesminster for 9 years so have lots of memories and associations with Whitehall and places nearby.

My task is to record memories, thoughts and associations people have of Westminster and all it's districts - Soho, Covent Garden, Victoria, Mayfair, Fitzrovia etc) and then use them to create a poem which will then become part of a giant poetry map of London in the Clore Ballroom of the Royal Festival Hall.

If you have anything to share please contact me either on DM here, by leaving a comment or by tweeting me @msamykey

I'd love to hear your thoughts so I can help put them on the poetry map.

Many thanks

Amy

    • It’s full-on consumerism season now until, well, Easter probably.
    • Well thanks for enriching the conversation.  Would you chuck Fah - rage in too for his tax avoidance on his property?   I expect it was lead story on Jeremy Vine too.  Doesn't make it a story, just a bit more of BBC tabloid style sensationalism.  There are numerous real news stories in the UK and across the world.  And now, apt for Halloween, you have summoned up the ghost of Louisa. So for the third time, will you now eat humble pie?
    • It's firework season now up until early Jan 2026. Starting with celebrating the failure of terrorist Guy Fawkes on November 5th! BOOM!
    • Get used to it! 'major incidents' are a regular occurrence these days! some ignored by mainstream media.
