Hiya

My mum is Celiac and coming to visit nest week - does anyone know if there are any celiac restaurants in the area?

I am struggling to find one?

Be very careful in East Dulwich as any questions regarding gluten have been met with blank stares (Best bet is Indian food as they understand the difference between wheat flour and gram or rice flour but there will still be traces within kitchen cross contamination).

I've never been, as the family member is only low level coeliac (so not life threatening) but you could try

Try the house of tippler (on lordship lane) They do loads of tapas dishes which are generally ok (my mum is coeliac) or the begging bowl on Bellenden road (technically Peckham). That's a Thai place so again not to problematic. Xx

I'm a coeliac and would really recommend Cotto [www.italiancotto.co.uk] near Lambeth North. My non-GF husband loves it too. But if you want to stay in E Dulwich, Il Mirto on Melbourne Grove does gluten free pasta wwww.ilmirto.co.uk

I've found the best Indian in terms of being coeliac-friendly is Tandoori Nights. They'll be able to tell you exactly what is GF and they do a GF channa bread...

Hi,

My daughter is Coeliac. We don't go out much but we have been to Dulwich tandoori where the chef was great and cooked her a gluten free butterfly prawn starter as well as talking us through what was and not GF on the menu. Locale had a gluten free menu but has just closed down. :-(

Let's hope for another one...!

Othwerwise there is now GF pizza at pizza express in the village.
