Vintage bamboo & wicker side tables x 2

Two x 2-tier bamboo, wicker/cane side tables.

The tables are lightweight and easy to move around but substantial enough to support ornaments, cups of tea, or they look great with plants on them. These are indoor tables - the photos are taken outside for better light.

The tables are at least vintage but very possibly much older.

They are being sold as an unmatched pair as they are slightly different. Their widths are also slightly different. And one table is more faded than the other.

The bamboo around the shelves and table top is pinned on and could do with some re-pinning in places. They show some signs of wear from the years and one table top has a dark dent into the surface (see photo). The surface of each table is woven in a slightly different way. But apart from that, overall in good condition for their age and still look nice.
Each table is a similar height - around 65cm. One table top is around 45cm x 44.5cm wide. The other table top is around 47cm wide.

£50 each or £95 for the pair. ONO.

Collection from Forest Hill (SE23)

    • My mum (91 years young!) well remembers going to Austin's as a child, which she described as an 'Aladdin's Cave'!  She absolutely loved it - and is still a shopping fiend to this day (I 'blame' Austin's 😉). Going back up Peckham Rye, passing Austin's on your right hand-side, just past Phillips Walk (so not far from Austin's at all), I believe there was a British Relay Wireless shop - this would have been in the late 1930s/early 1940s.  Does anyone know anything about this? My grandad (my mum's dad) used to manage it; it was severely damaged in The Blitz - but I am having trouble locating it.  Mum's memory is dim (she was 6 at the time); she originally thought it was in Rye Lane, but we think now it was in Peckham Rye just up from Phillips Walk (originally Phillips Road).
    • Thanks everyone, this will need to be reported again as the fox was still mobile and walking down the road when last seen... hopefully someone will spot and report.
