Jazz at the EDT - THIS WEEK

Recommended Posts

Jazz at the EDT is back this years as part of the Dulwich Festival and tickets are flying off the shelf.

5 nights of Jazz right here in East Dulwich

Poppy Daniels Quintet

London born and raised, Poppy has become an infamous part of the UK jazz scene. Her style and versatility branches across multiple genres. After years of developing her sound, Poppy is excited to introduce her new quintet; a hot pot of jazz, fusion, hip-hop and Latin, expressed through the unique tone of one of London’s most exciting up and coming trumpet voices.

Byron Wallen - SOLD OUT

Byron Wallen is “one of the most innovative, exciting and original trumpet players alive” (Jazzwise Magazine). Widely recognised as a seminal figure in world jazz, he is constantly travelling the world recording, teaching and performing.

Nigel Price Organ Trio

Nigel Price Organ Trio will be playing selections from their vast back catalogue as well as the recently released and critically acclaimed album ‘That’s it. Right there.’ Together, Nigel Price, Ross Stanley and Joel Barford form perhaps one of the most hard hitting, dynamic and exciting jazz groups on the scene today.

Camina Band - SOLD OUT

This great Cuban band makes a triumphant return, having played for us at Dulwich Festival in 2022. Authentic salsa music players from Cuba and South America, Camina are regulars at Ronnie Scott’s and major festivals around the UK. A fabulous way to spend a Friday night!

Laura B and her Band

A collection of the best authentic sounding rhythm and blues players in Europe, whose credentials speak for themselves. Comprised of members from many outstanding bands, Laura B herself was billed as the ‘UK’s New Diva of Rhythm and Blues’ at The Rhythm Riot & Atomic in 2009.

    • In case anyone is renovating or stripping out an old kitchen, I am looking for a base kitchen unit or carcass to house an oven for a temporary set up kitchen.   Also looking for a run of worktop at least 180 cm long if anyone is disposing of something like this, I would be happy to collect.   thanks   Mila
    • Big recommendation for Stephen Viccary who has created a magnificent bathroom for us. Quality of work is absolutely top notch. We couldn't be happier - see pics.  Stephen is considerate and tidy meaning working from home during the work was fine (some noise - obviously, it is a demo and installation after all. He does not work on multiple jobs, does a full days work and does ALL the work himself - Tiling, plumbing, lighting (including lighting on a motion sensor under the vanity and in the shower niche - for night time visits 😉), he even changed the door architraves, sorted the badly cracked ceiling and did all the paint work. A full end to end service. Stephen's number - 07941 266 145
    • Highly recommend Dulwich Eco Gardening.  When he came to quote Saied said he’d give our garden back so we could decide what we do next.  Under two weeks of hard work from Saied and Mo and we have the garden back and can see paving I’d forgotten about. Not only did Saied remove our very overgrown greenery. Nature had taken over. He also took back to our fence line overgrown ivy, apple and pear trees and and dealt with a neighbours bamboo that had invaded our garden.  We are now going to get quotes for what we do next so those quoting will be able to see the space.  Saied has suggested someone to quote and will be coming back when he does in case he has any questions or they can work together.  I thought Saied would be a good choice and he was. Quotes from others didn’t leave me with confidence for the end result. That was never a concern with Saied.
