plimsoles. does anyone at school wear them?

The uniform list for daughter's new school specifies trainers for PE but I'm wondering if plimsoles would be OK. Term has ended now, so too late to check with the school. Any ideas please?

Both my kids have plimsoles and seen other kids with them. I suspect 'trainers' is just used as the modern term for shoes for doing sport in.

I've only just bought some for my little girl (?2.50 at Sainsburys) as she was insistent that everybody else had them (I doubt it). My son just takes his normal trainers for PE.

Sunbob I remember you saying your daughter is starting at SJSC - they don't get changed for PE until at least the beginning of the January term. Before then they usually just get them to take their shoes and socks off for PE activities in the hall. Speak to the teacher in Sept and find out what they specifically doing, definitely no need to buy the PE kit ahead of the Sept term start. For my older two we started off with black plimsoles and progressed to trainers as they got older.
