A long shot, but we had a couple of bags taken from our house last night. Yes... I'm an idiot, i forgot to re-lock the window.

I presume that they've been dumped nearby. Someone found the purse that was in one of the bags - all the cards apart from driving licence had been removed - and returned it to our doorstep.

If anyone finds either of these, do get in touch.

As I said, a long shot. I presume they went in a bin, and it's bin collection day round these parts. So not hopeful.

Gosh I am sorry to hear about this.  Do you mind if I ask what area you live in. As we need to be on the look out for strange activities.  And it isn't your fault for not locking a window.  We always blame ourselves for things. When it is actually not our fault it is the bloody nasty thieves who are to blame.   Not you or anyone else.

Sometimes thieves just take the cash and ditch the rest nearby. Might be worth checking around local parks, alleyways, or even posting in community Facebook groups in case someone spots them.

I doubt if they will still be there seven or eight months later, or if they are they won't be in very good condition, sadly!

    • Well I did say I stand to be corrected! Fair enough, their website only seemed to list three branches. Perhaps it's a franchise model?  It's known as 'agglomeration' in economics Rookie error.
    • I didn't know there was a word for that — thanks!
    • This is just normal business behaviour. That's why there are so many coffee shops in ED and shops selling gifts and interiors stuff, clothes, restaurants.  If there's more than one business of a similar type then it can benefit all of them up to a saturation point and keep up quality. It's all sounding like many think Chango has made a malicious move when it actually sounds like it's owned by one guy who has a good business that has done well.   Anyway this is all great advertising for both empanada places. Very close by is the organic grocer who sells really good value and very tasty samosas and other Indian snacks which are also worth trying.
