LL to Court Lane signage query

Read some old threads but am new to the area. Accessed Court Lane by car from LL 2/3 times in past week before seeing a no entry for vehicle signs on the road prior to turning. 
From reading old posts it seems that it is fine to turn onto Court Lane however there is a camera between Court Lane and Calton Avenue and this turning is prohibited. Is my understanding correct?

Your understanding is not correct.  

The camera is situated on Townley Road so that you cannot turn left from Calton Ave onto Townley Road at certain times of the morning and afternoon.  

You can go up down Court Lane and Woodwarde etc with no problem.

I think you are correct - there is a sign on Lordship Lane just near the BT phone exchange which appears to indicate that you cannot turn on to Court Lane but I think it is misleading and is referring to turn at the end on to Carlton Avenue. I am not sure why the sign is positioned there and not before the intersection with Eynella Road where it would be more accurate.

Yes, you are correct.  It's yet another misleading and confusing sign.

Although if you need to You can drive up and  down Court Lane to your hearts content. It’s an intentionally misleading sign as they do not want any cars going past their houses at all irrespective of whether the road is blocked at the end.

I think the council deliberately put them up to confuse as they are not at all accurate - it's almost as if they were trying to dissuade people from turning into the LTN area at all - or I did wonder if it was done to improve their monitoring figures when they had the strips down.

Either way, to see a road as big as Court Lane empty of traffic is a crime, when the main arteries are fully congested.

Coincidentally, Court Lane has loads of big expensive houses.

More than a few of whose owners no doubt come from the champagne branch of socialism....and we know how influential they can be once they get tje ear of local councillors! 😉
