We are a family of 5 looking for a part time au pair/lodger who is happy to do some childcare in exchange for rent from Aug/Sept. We have had lots of au pairs before and its really worked for our family, but due to Brexit it is almost impossible. Ours kids are 11, 9 and 7.

You would be required to take them to school 2 days a week and collect them from school Monday to Thursday between 3-6pm and one nights babysitting a week. When with the kids you would need to help them with homework and cook dinner 2 nights a week. This totals a maximum of 18 hours per week so would suit someone who is also studying/working part time.

We have a cleaner so whilst you would be required to do general tidying up/washing up after yourself, you would not be required to deep clean the bathrooms or kitchens.

We live between Honor Oak and Forest Hill and have a large 6 bedroom house over three floors of which one room and shower room on the top floor would be yours. The room has a double bed, cupboard, drawers, desk and TV/DVD. We have a large garden to enjoy in the summer and great views over the city. We also currently have a weekday female lodger who you would share the top floor with.

You would need to be DBS checked and provide references. Childcare experience is preferred. Thanks

  But all those examples sell a wide variety of things, and mostly they are well spread out along Lordship Lane. These two shops both sell one very specific thing, albeit in different flavours, and are just across the road from each other. I don't think you can compare the distribution of shops in Roman times to the distribution of shops in Lordship Lane in the twenty first century. Well, you can, but it doesn't feel very appropriate. Haa anybody asked the first shop how they feel? Are they happy about the "healthy competition" ?

  Ha! After I posted this, I thought of lots more examples. Screwfix and the hardware store? Mrs Robinson and Jumping Bean? Chemists, plant shops, hairdressers... the list goes on... it's good to have healthy competition Ooooh! Two cheese shops

  You've got a point. Thinking Leyland and Screwfix too but this felt different.
