roofer recommendation

Russell Perring and his team just completed some work on our roof.

It's a really good set-up. Sarah is right on the money with emails and Russell is very responsive to calls/texts and prompt. Genuinely felt that they are there to help.

Once we decided to go ahead with the work the scaffolding was up the next day, the first lot of work done on the Thursday and then finished on the Friday.

He's received lots of recommendations on here and I'd back them up.

I also think Caz did a great job- we had a leak on our flat garage roof, which he thought in all honesty was probably repairable without needing a whole new roof; Caz was prompt and courteous and gave us a couple of options to fix the problem. He was candid about chances of success, but so far it seems to be working! A good bloke who genuinely seems to care.

I would also thoroughly recommend McCann Roofing. After the recent rain, we had a leak in our roof dripping into a bedroom - Caz popped round very promptly and identified the problem (which fortunately wasn't the roof itself, but seemed to be related to water entering via the chimney). As a previous poster has said, Caz was candid about what might be causing the leak -- and clearly not seeking to create unnecessary work / expense. He kindly fitted us in a couple of days later to repair the problem.

Overall, Caz and his team were very pleasant to deal with and we'd definitely use them again.

I would like to recommend Caswell McCann of McCann Roofing, he came around and fixed our guttering as well as undertaking some roofing repairs. Not only punctual and tidy, but also a genuinely lovely person.

His number is 07986 447893 and e-mail is [email protected].

    • DKH was two form entry, it is now one form entry to cope with the fact it was far more under subscribed than other schools in the area. They had actually combined year groups into single classes, 3/4 and 5/6.  When a school changes name, it’s usually because of a bad reputation perhaps the results.  The new name is dry with no history unlike its current name. It’s a very sketchy decision. It’s an expensive vanity project for someone.  What  will happen if the name change does not increase applications to the school?
    • @first mate I assume Alice made a mistake, as she removed her reaction.  I was wondering about park wardens. As I said, there was one there last night, who was incredibly helpful and proactive. As well as bringing me to the police, he caught up with a young guy on a bike who'd earlier been the victim of an attempted theft by these kids and linked him up with the police too. But I do wonder, as I've only very occasionally seen him riding around, how many they have and what hours they patrol. I've no doubt they'd be a strong deterrent if they had a better presence. They were nowhere to be seen the first time around.  Update: I've just found this: https://services.southwark.gov.uk/community-safety/community-wardens The guy in the photo at the bottom of the page was the lovely warden of last night and I've just now remembered him telling me he's based in Burgess Park. Anyway, there needs to be more of them, as I rarely see one in Peckham.
    • Some of us oldies would associate Grove with the old Grove Vale School (which I went to in the 1950s)
