The Amateur FA are running a FA Referees Course at Alleyn's School (SE22 8SU), on 21 and 25 August (18:00-21:00 & 10:00-17:00 respectively). The course is available to anyone aged 16+, who is interested in becoming a football referee – a role that not only can provide a good part-time income, along with health and wellbeing benefits, but also valuable life skills such as communication, leadership and dealing with conflict. Whilst at the same time, you can be helping to facilitate community sport in the local area.

The course is £135 but includes equipment to get started (whistle, notebook with cards, flags), plus registration for the 24/25 season. As part of the qualification, candidates are required to referee 5 matches, which they're entitled to be paid for, and, as a result, individuals normally have made their money back by the time they are certified!

  Posted around 12 cards 2 weeks prior to 24th December. Had some responses so know people have received them. Had about 20 cards - mixture of hand delivered and via post. After years of 'nagging' by myself and our daughters, we may have cured hubby of spending £4 plus on individual cards for our immediate family ( when you have 12 immediate family it costs a bomb) Also as the girls state, they get put in the recycling bad at beginning of January regardless of cost.

  There was a LETS scheme in ED and it ran for a couple of years or so. Trying to remember when it was pre 2000? A couple of friends joined it, one did baby sitting for exchange for ironing, the other did small painting jobs or simple gardening. There was a set criteria regarding credits,
