Hello,

I am a friendly, patient, and highly experienced teacher with 12 years of classroom experience including 6 years of head of department experience. I offer tutoring in the following areas:

Maths - Y7-11 (i.e. 11+, 13+, GCSE)

Physics - Y7-13 (i.e. GCSE, A Level)

Physics / Engineering / Natural Sciences - university entrance exam preparation and practice interviews (including Oxbridge)

I have access to a wealth of resources to help engage, challenge, and support pupils whether they be looking to understand a specific topic area, push for a top grade, better understand the fundamentals, or simply to gain confidence and practice exam technique. Sessions are always planned for the specific pupil(s) I am working with. Whilst a number of tutors will offer remote tutoring, I remain convinced that in-person tutoring is far more beneficial for the pupil and their learning. As such, I only offer face-to-face tutoring.

Currently, I have some weeknight availability for regular sessions and offer competitive rates. Group sessions also offered up to a maximum of 3 pupils.

Please feel free to contact me for more information or to discuss more.

Kinds regards,

Alex Birchmore

    • I think Lordship Lane is an exception and needs to be complained about.  Next time you're out and about take a look at the queue - it is not unusual for it to go past the Dry Cleaners and sometimes even past the Japanese restaurant.   It needs urgent action.  It is not acceptable to queue for an hour and 15 minutes to be served whilst the Post Office figures out its next business model.   The PO does not care about its customers or its staff (Mr Bates v The Post Office anyone).  It does not like getting complaints.  Complaints are untidy.
    • I speak as an ex employee of Southwark Libraries btw.  Went to print off a document, had to join (Grove Vale) the sign up process was a QR code! My pet hate when used in restaurants etc. We talked about my printing needs, apparently I could have printed from my phone! (email) A customer was enquiring about a book, they quickly established no copies available for loan - but checked whether an audio copy was available! I know I probably sound 100 years old but I am online and on the mobile frequently. Lots more than some contemporaries.  Positive vibes all round, pleasantly surprised
