We've got a lovely new surface on the footpath below (to the North) of Horniman Gardens, I think this is in a Lewisham rather than Southwark project.  Southwark are better at laying paving stones than Lewisham, just cross over from Wood Vale and see the difference.  I hope that it will not get flooded from Horniman run-off, but I am not convinced.

The point is the millions of pounds expenditure by Southwark Council on a small and unnecessary configuration of road space in Dulwich Village, is in stark contrast to the lengthy runs of cracking asphalt and dirty, broken-trip-hazard paving that graces much of East Dulwich.

The issue is that there are some mature trees and very narrow pavements. If you want to improve the experience for pedestrians, then we should be talking about widening the pavements, otherwise it's just going to be temporary patch ups.

Just to clarify, the trees are far from mature. They're only about 20 years old and will continue increasing in size for decades to come.  Trunks of mature Plane trees can reach around a metre in diameter and so any attempt to address the pavement problem needs to address the future growth of the very closely planted Plane trees which will continue to lift and sink sections of pavement.

Got a message back within a day to say medication ordered from chemist.

    • Oh give it a break.  We have an MP who makes racist comments, yet our media (and what seems like this Forum) that generally hate Labour (and loved Johnson) are just out looking for the dirt. It's a move on, nothing to see here.  Particularly if she used a letting agency.
