Crystal Palace Road trees coming down

Anyone know why the trees in Crystal Palace Road are coming down? I couldn't find anything on the Council website but had thought it was a conservation area, and the wildlife used the trees a lot.

As far as I know, Crystal Palace Road is neither a conservation area which refers to the built environment or a SINC - Site of Importance for Nature Conservation.

One dead tree near the leisure centre has been removed. Perhaps more are ready for the chop?

The tree people in Southwark only remove or work on trees that are diseased or have issues with structure and cutting back to improve health and growth.  As far as I know.
