Are you looking for a tutor who not only excels in Maths and Physics but also understands and empathises with your child's unique learning needs?

My name is Sylvia Alexander, and I am an A-Level student currently studying Maths, Physics, and Further Maths at The Charter School North Dulwich. With a reliable, patient, and kind demeanour, I bring experience working with children of all ages as a regular babysitter and tutor.
I offer face-to-face tutoring for any year group up to Year 11, available on weekdays after school and weekends. I specialise in supporting children through the critical transition from primary to secondary school, all the way through their GCSEs. Having recently completed my own GCSEs, I am well-acquainted with the challenges and pressures students face.
My approach to tutoring is centered on empathy and understanding. I strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment where your child can thrive. I am dedicated to helping them successfully navigate GCSE content, establish strong revision habits, and develop effective strategies.
My goal is to boost your child's confidence, deepen their interest and understanding of the subjects, and improve their grades. I believe every child has the potential to excel, and with the right support, they can achieve remarkable success.
If you are interested in giving your child the extra help they need to succeed in Maths and Physics, please DM me to set up a meeting, or hear more about my experience and qualifications. My rate is £20/hr.
Together, we can make learning a positive and rewarding experience!

    • I know people won’t have any sympathy but the SEND challenge was brought up when taxing parents who have opted for independent school to meet a child’s SEND needs. Funding crisis is getting worse and the VAT on Education pushed children out of independent schools, now their SEND needs are to be met by the state.
    • I completely agree with you - and last night was really terrible where I am. Between midnight and 1am was the worst, where it genuinely felt like a war zone. I had to run out of my house to try and stop a grown man setting them off in open space right by our front doors. In response he went to throw a half lit one at me and then seemed to think better of it. I am so sad at how bad the situation has got here and how selfish people are. Fireworks are bad for the environment and for pets and wildlife, as well as just being unnecessary noise for people too. I have sent an email today to Helen Hayes, which I have done previously on this issue. Would advise anyone to write to your MP to do the same, and to ask them to engage with the debates scheduled for 19 Jan.
    • And they started long before midnight!
    • First mate - I wondered if I was imagining things at 4.45 this morning . Apparently not .
