Hi

I know there are lots of gymnastics classes out there but I’m looking for a few recommendations please.  My child is quite nervous and shy but very keen on wanting to try gymnastics.

Ideally in the local area and not too expensive.

Thanks so much.

I would recommend Synergy Gymnastics  (formerly Southwark Gymnastics). My son went to classes for several years. They offer holiday clubs too, whether or not your child attends a regular class.

Not gymnastics but also very good, trampolining with Beckenham Fliers.

My two girls currently go to Charisma gymnastics . In summary, my girls love it, and have really developed in their gymnastics - but I have to say, it is very very expensive. They sadly don’t provide sibling discount like most / other local children clubs do and I’m afraid with the amount of “gymnastic competitions” they run and which there is a hefty charge to enter as well as a fee for parents to come and watch their children compete (!)  it really feels like they are just focused on making money.

sadly, even with the amount of money that goes towards gymnastics, parents can’t even go inside to “watch” their children learn gymnastics as there is “no space”. I’ve told friends the same. Seriously considering looking at an alternative option.

    • I have been reliably informed that it's not the same group.
    • my bet is it's the same group and no amount of talking to is going to make a difference.
    • Definitely not intended  to come across as "gleeful". Quite the opposite, because developments such as this will only encourage extreme right-wingers such as Reform. And heaven help us if they ever formed a government. It's incumbent on Labour to come up with an effective  policy to "smash the gangs" otherwise we are facing Farage and his gang further down the road.
    • It feels like it might be an extension of the summer water bombing spate. The sad thing is this could really put off some visiting the park. I really hope the council seriously consider putting some of their huge parking surplus to funding a serious and permanent warden and police presence in the park; it is needed.
