Looking to join a choir? One Tree Hill Choir new term starts on Wednesday.

Following on from the success of local performances in the deserted chapel at Nunhead Cemetery Open Day and the (very rainy) Woodland Stage at Blythe Hill Fields Festival last term, we're looking forward to more singing and performing this autumn and winter.

  Gell me about it. We have a block of flats going up nextdoor to us, 18 months and counting of construction noise six days a week.

  For balance, I've had construction noise 5 days a week for the last 3 years as loft and side constructions are undertaken one by one, with added joy of being overlooked in the garden, so a few days noise shouldn't be too onerous. I do know that Gala had a team of litter pickers working non-stop the whole time I was there, so efforts are made to keep the park litter free.

  There certainly seem to be many more than there used to be. It used to be just Iceland and the Co-op, if memory serves! I think Gourmet Burger Kitchen may have been next. And Cafe Nero?
