With weather so great. All fish at billingsgate is fantastic value. Everything is v v fresh. Scallops are ?20/kg.

Scallops in shells ?2each.fresh unpasturised white crab meat ?20/400g pack. Whole livecrab ?9/kg. Live/cooked Lobster ?34/kg. Lovely sweet clams, ideal for pasta dishes ?12/kg. Massive tiger prawns ?7 each. Raw King prawns ?14/kg.freshly Cooked king prawns ?18/kg. cornish or shetland Mussels ?4/kg. Razor clams (live) ?10/kg/bunch. Small sea bass/bream ?4each. Great large whole wild salmon ?24 each or 1.5kg filleted sides of salmon ?20. Squid ?11/kg. Octopus ?11/kg.

Halibut steaks ?20/kg. Monkfish tails ?20/kg. Skate wings ?11/kg. haddock,cod?11/kg. Smoked mackeral ?4 each.

best Smoked salmon 400g ?8. Lovely Lemon & dover soles ?20/kg. brilliant sushi grade tuna ?22/kg.

The list is endless...jeeled eels,smoked eel,lovely smoked herrings, salt cod ,sea urchins,red gunards,swordfish

crab claws, dressed crabs

    • They’ve backed away from pretending they produce their own goods recently. That claim sat at the centre of the misdirection for years. They’ve now accepted they can’t sustain it, so they’re beginning to highlight the local independent bakeries whose products they actually sell. The business is essentially a courier model running on a slim margin.
    • Another sparrow hawk visor to our cherry tree at the weekend.  Our robin survived, but we may be a sparrow down.     any thoughts on bird feeders & bird baths with the current bird flu?  I try to wash out the bird bath most days when at home, but not on the 3 days in a row that I’m in the office & the bird feeders rather less regularly. Would it be better not to have at all (as my partner thinks)? 
    • OOOPS. My daughter just had to pay a five pound fine. I hadn't put a stamp on it. I remember wondering whether to use a  first or second class stamp,  and clearly when I posted it I still hadn't decided (but sadly didn't notice). I feel really bad for suspecting a postie might have  opened it.  Sorry posties.
