I had a Defra wood burning stove fitted, having got my stove and installer through Max at Westcombe Fireplaces.

Nick and John, the installers, were brilliant and very competitively priced. Max also knows his stuff and matched online stove and chimney lining prices. I checked through all the threads on the forum and did my homework on all the options and recommendations before going with Max, Nick and Jon. They are Hetas registered and were great. They have done other building work for me in the house and I can't recommend them enough. Feel free to PM me for more info.

I'd recommend Dennis for installation T07903 425482 - HETAS reg - he supplied and fitted mine, and prepared the chimney and fireplace beautifully first - really pleasaed with the results.

You will need your chimney swept before stove work is done - We've used Mr Pearce and his son for years - Steve Pearce T0208 6993713 (a family business in this area going back 300 years)

Good luck and enjoy it - winters will never be the same again!!

    • From what I have gathered from Bradbury Oak residents  I have spoken with, that at a meeting with RNIB earlier in the year, none of the residents were in favour of new build. There is the implication that rent rises are anticipated to help towards building costs. Rent is currently in the region of £300 pw - as with most sheltered housing (council and Housing Association), Since these rents also include maintenance charges, utility charges - Housing Benefit is only applicable to the actual 'rent element' per flat.
