Blue recycling boxes

Southwark have decided to no longer supply or support the use of the smaller blue boxes for recycling

Fot those of you that currently use a blue box, it will be removed and a large blue bin will replace it.

A lot of people use the blue boxes to avoid cluttering their gardens or the street so whilst I understand their health and safety reason, it's going to potentially lead to more clutter on bin day or more bins left on streets as there is no room in properties.

Thanks for the update. Fortunately my front garden is large enough to accomodate a big blue bin next to my Citroen AX. But other people aren’t all so lucky.

It's a good job they are replacing your blue box with a bin Bob, we all know a Citroen won't fit into a blue box for recycling (unless it's a 2cv )

There’s no need to talk about Deux Chevaux - just because I can park my car in my front garden next to my bins.

This does reflect a one size fits all  approach. Or rather assert on size it it becomes true.

 We have enough space for 3 wheely bins but walking the streets not everyone does
