On the 12th Oct we have 2 rides, Jean and John leading to Regents Park to view the Frieze Sculptures (that’s right – sculptures two weeks running!) and Simon with another version of his ride round the big tourist sites of Central London

Start at 10.00 from Dulwich Park Café (Dulwich Clock Café, middle of park). Ride via Herne Hill and Loughborough Junction to Kennington and Oval up to Vauxhall Bridge. Along the river to Westminster Bridge, then St James Park and on to Hyde Park.  From Hyde Park we will make our way to Regents Park to the English Garden to see the Sculptures on show for Frieze 2024. This is a really fun outdoor display held every October. You will find an audio/video guide here .
We'll allow a half hour to look around the 21 pieces and take a coffee break nearby. If you want longer looking at the sculptures - then bring your own drink/snack.
Returning across Hyde Park then Exhibition Road and South Kensington down to the river and across to Battersea from where we will ride through Clapham Common and Brockwell Park back to Dulwich Park. The ride will be about 20 miles and allowing extra time for the exhibition, we will aim to be back in Dulwich by 2pm. Report of a previous Frieze ride here.

Start at Southwark Needle, London Bridge, 10.00.  Route:  Cannon Street, Queen Street, Thames cycle path (Cycleway 3), Parliament Sq, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park. Using the Serpentine Bridge round the boating lake. Return via The Mall, Westminster Bridge, Tate Modern and Borough Market, finish London Bridge. Coffee stop in Hyde Park. Back by 12.30. Leader Simon K.

Riders of all ages are welcome on Healthy Rides but under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.  Same for “adults at risk”.
Always give way to pedestrians and to other cyclists so all path users feel safe (note there is a lot of shared path on these ride). If you cannot make a ride, please cancel so that someone else can take the place. This ride is part of a regular programme of Saturday rides, more information at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/

    • Yes, should have given up by now but haven’t. Was waiting for my train yesterday and went into WHS on platform to buy a pack of fags. Almost feel to the floor when guy quoted me £28.00 for a packet of Silk Cut purple. Was a long day for me and thought I had totally misheard him! Asked again, only to be told that that was the price whuch is well over the odds..when I queried it as have bought, admittedly end of last year was told “ this is what management charges”. Surely this can’t be right…fags stayed in WHS paws while I bought some in Herne Hill at normal price. Still reeling over shock…..
    • I use the one in peckham where lidles is they are really good if you need somewhere closer
    • Going to be really inconvenient for folk to go that way as has been stated.. why not just move to Camberwell which I would assume is abit nearer and better travelling wise or have vets in both places from Lordship Lane Branch.. Must have been massive flood if going to take two months to dry out, electrical tests to make sure all good… From upstairs? Or where?
    • @selector73 Thanks!  Because we want him to be treated by the vets that know him we will have to get to the New X branch because thats where the team are based until LL reopens. Thank you again 🙏
