Accommodation for pensioners.

Just a query at this stage. I have friends 79 and 82 who own a half house in ED which they cannot maintain and requires renovation. The wife walks with a 3 wheeler, a husband with stick. They are not eligible being owner occupiers for council or sheltered housing and ideally would like to sell their property and purchase a ground floor flat. I fear they are going to be disappointed when they realise that this will not be as easy as they thought.

I suggested that they sell up and consider privately renting. They want to remain in ED where their friends/church/community links are. They have own furniture and no pets. Does anyone know of an estate agent/letting agent that would be willing to rent out to pensioners? Apart from state pensions, neither of couple are on benefits

( I have suggested that they apply for Attendance Allowance for husband as he needs help with personal care. To apply for a home improvement grant would take too long ( almost a year it took another elderly friend from start to finish re paperwork). As I say - only a general query at this stage.
