This is a hard backed, vintage cookery book is from 1923 published by Ward, Lock & Co., Limited of London and Melbourne. It is a bound in olive green with black block lettering.

It is in excellent condition with fabulous period adverts and colour pictures - includes 12 colour plates, over 250 illustrations as well as 2000 recipes and lots of household advise. 

It measures 8” x 5.5”   20cm x14cm   It would make a unique Christmas present for a cook! £9.00

    • Adding a recommendation for Andy, who just did a job for us hanging heavy mirrors and pictures in our house. He gave a clear and fair price, works very tidily, made sure that I was happy with the work and placement of the pictures and is very pleasant to have around. 
    • In what sense? Be more specific  (and I have worked in retail and hospitality)  nothing I said is in any way anti-retail as far as I can see  Out of interest and for comparison, which country do you think gets it right to a significant degree?
    • The root of all these problems is that the model of capitalism pursued in this country for the last 45 years has failed utterly. It’s only true beneficiaries inhabit an ever decreasing circle of have-lots in a sea of have-nots, defended by an increasingly squeezed band of born at the right time boomers, which surely cannot hold. 
    • I'm talking about parts of the country economically deprived, some that never recovered from the loss of traditional industries. But in your point, yes, there are those that are never happy.  We should be reasonably happy in this area.
