nunhead29
Hello,I just wanted to pass on a friendly word of warning re: Green Handyman Sam (I got his details from EDF). I had the misfortune of hiring him to complete a few odd jobs to finish off my kitchen and install some shelves recently. Whilst he was very pleasant in person, half way through completing the job, he sent me a series of more and more abrupt emails demanding that I pay him the full amount (which I did - I know, a mistake, but had thought he seemed trustworthy), before coming back to complete the work the following week. Of course, he never returned the following week. He kept hold of my door keys for two weeks, which felt a little disconcerting, and only returned them when I involved the police. It may be a one-off, but I just wouldn't want anyone else to have the same experience. Sue
Thanks for that.I have lately heard of a few people who have had - let's say unfortunate - experiences with tradespeople found via EDF recommendations.Having had my fingers burned a few times myself, I really sympathise.
