Bumpkin
Hi - does anyone have any recommendations for a driving instructor for our soon to be 17 year old son? I saw glowing reviews for Silvano but think he only does automatic cars now. Thanks appreciate don’t need to drive in London etc, but may as well get the test out of the way now. malumbu
Nicholas has been teaching in the area for decades https://www.facebook.com/passplus7/?locale=en_GB But.... noting what you say about not having to drive.,,,, perhaps consider learning in an electric vehicle as they will be driving them in years to come Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/352976-driving-instructor-for-teenage-boy-recommendations-wanted/#findComment-1684786 Share on other sites

Pugwash
My granddaughter (25) passed her test first time. She had been learning on a manual car for many months but progress was slow. She changed to an automatic vehicle with the same instructor and put in for her test within 6 weeks. By the time she can afford to buy a car- there will be more automatic and electrical cars about. Driving instructor was based in Orpington, He advised that more and more learners were using automatics. Bumpkin
Thanks all, my son is an F1 fan who bought himself a simulator steering wheel & pedal set with birthday, Christmas & odd job money ages ago so the practicalities of driving a manual will be simple for him. I’m after someone that will drill in the safety aspects of driving. I think F1 is a dreadful sport, but he’s 16 so I give him some slack. Given the above, think most sensible to learn on a manual as widest use once passed.
