Peckhamgatecrasher
I've received an email apparently from HM Revenue & Customs suggesting I've overpaid tax and need to submit a form to claim it.Is this kosher or a scam?I've not opened the attachment. muffins78
They won't contact you via email, they will issue you with a cheque and/or amend your tax code, depending on the amounts involved.Just as assurance about the email route - when you ring them for work reasons, trying to correspond with them via email is a nightmare, unless you are involved with whoever is in charge of your account. So far dealing with individual taxes, I've never had email correspondence, only had it for corporate/vat! KalamityKel
The main q you should ask yourself... Did you give them your email address in the first place?I'm always getting such emails though never given my address. Don't open them. Just report them as a phishing scam to your email provider :-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/35303-submit-your-tax-refund/#findComment-670154 Share on other sites
