Recommended Painter/Decorator - Thomas Lawless

Hi There,

Just wanted to post here to say that if anyone is looking for a painter/decorator then I thoroughly recommend Thomas Lawless. I actually found him on the Southwark Councils recommended traders list a couple of years ago and he's since done a couple of jobs on our house (inside and out) in Nunhead. I've never had any issues and always really happy with his work (plus his rates are very reasonable).

Another recommendation for Thomas Lawless. We decided we needed a specialist painter and decorator when we hit a decorating problem in the small back bedroom ? large areas of new paint on the ceiling kept peeling away despite attempts to scrape/sand it off and applying a number of coats of dilute pva before repainting; also, after stripping off layers of old wallpaper, the walls looked terrible, even after quite a lot of attempts at filling and sanding! Thomas knew exactly what the problem was with the ceiling (a very persistent case of old distemper paint), and how to sort it out. The ceiling now looks great, pristine, and he also made the walls look better than we could have hoped for without actually replastering ? very happy with the results, and very grateful for his expertise. • I personally think is a great idea Bobbly and would love if there was a section for it. I wouldn't offer free gardening under the "for sale" section as I would expect something in exchange and wouldn't expect our cat being looked after for free under the "wanted" section, as an example.
    • Looking for used decking boards. Should be hardwood
    • I have fond memories of Govinda's I used to go there  back in the 90's (maybe earlier) for an affordable tasty lunch..I was wondering if its still around. Now I have to make a point of going there. Does anyone else remember a really affordable basement cafe run by the church in a street off of Golden Square? parallel to Regent Street? I also used to love the Vegetarian cafe on Neal Street in the basement (Neal Street Cafe?) and there was an inczredible inexpensive authentic Japanese resturant I use to go to with my Japanese friends (who introduced me to it) tucked away behind Long Acre where that brown brick modern building ('modern' I think it went up in the 90's!) now stands that fronts Long Acre and Neal Street..I think it was called Asakasa or something?
    • I wonder where he could be deported to, Hungary the obvious candidate in Europe, perhaps he would get on well with Modi?   Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch and Reform UK leader Nigel Farage both said Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood should look at whether Abd El Fattah's citizenship could be revoked to enable his swift removal from the UK. Farage said in a letter to Mahmood: "It should go without saying that anyone who possesses racist and anti-British views such as those of [Mr Abd El Fattah] should not be allowed into the UK." So just racists views are ok Nige?
